My name is Claudia Omaña. I was born in my beloved Colombia, surrounded by family who share a love for pastry-making and food. My academic background is in health; I am a nurse and health administrator. Pastry-making is in my blood; it’s something I carry within me.
In my home, everyone knows how to make cakes (tortas and ponqués, as we call them in Colombia), and at every celebration, my family brings a cake we’ve made ourselves. Following my father Carlos’s advice that we should always have a profession and a craft, I took some pastry and baking courses. Now, in the United States, my craft is pastry-making, and I want to share it with the world.
